Agricultural Trade Show Review
This year brought changes to the larger agricultural trade shows happening in Southern Ontario. These changes will help showcase the top manufacturers, suppliers, equipment and services available to farm owners to help in the growth and profitability of their farm business.
The beginning of February of each year will now feature the annual London Dairy Congress at the Metroland Media Agriplex in London, Ontario. Still a relatively new show, it provides farm owners the ability to see new innovations and source ideas for the planning of their farm projects. Being held early in the year will benefit those planning their Spring projects and we expect this show to grow larger every year.
The Canadian Dairy XPO recently changed their venue to April from February to take advantage of nicer weather for its patrons. Despite the change in date, this year’s show still drew a large number of people. Their recent addition of the WeCover Cow Coliseum, engineered by Stonecrest Engineering, provided additional space for demonstrations and vendors.
Lastly, the Canadian Outdoor Farm Show held in early September, made some expansions to their venue including the addition and expansion of a number of pavilions. These included a larger Livestock Pavilion, the Britespan Dairy Innovation Centre, Grober Young Animal Development Centre and the EastGen Dairy Producer Pavilion. Stonecrest Engineering was happy to be included in the Livestock Pavilion sponsored by ABC Bedding Company located near the Hospitality Centre and Dairy Innovation Centre. It was a pleasure to see so many great customers and vendors under one roof.
Whether visiting for a day at the Southwest Dairy Symposium or taking one of PDO’s informative dairy facility tours of some of the local dairy operations at the Outdoor Farm Show, Ontario boasts some of the largest shows in the country. For more information on upcoming shows, visit our events page.
