
ABOUT STONECREST
Founded in 1995, by Wayne Blenkhorn, P.Eng., Stonecrest Engineering specialized in serving the agricultural industry with a wide range of engineering services. Stonecrest Engineering was built with the mindset to possess in-house experience that spanned the entire agricultural industry including dairy, swine, poultry, beef, duck, goat, horse, sheep facilities and manure handling/management. Working closely with clients, Stonecrest Engineering ensured that permit drawings are structurally sound, and that layout accommodates animal traffic flow and comfort.
For over 15 years now, Steve Miller, P.Eng., now President of Stonecrest Engineering, has overseen the company’s operations ensuring that we are able to provide considerable knowledge, expertise and premium customer service to our clients. Since Stonecrest’s conception over 20 years ago, the company has designed thousands of agricultural facilities and has since expanded to include engineering services for bio-energy, commercial and residential sectors.
Stonecrest Engineering has established a reputation in the agricultural sector for our knowledge, quality of designs and our attention to providing our clients with the best possible customer service, keeping their best interests of their Farm Business in mind. We have expanded our services to design agricultural facilities throughout Canada, the United States and overseas.
Today, Stonecrest Engineering houses 13 staff working out of our office in Shakespeare, Ontario. All our staff are experienced and highly respected in the agricultural and engineering fields and have helped establish Stonecrest Engineering as THE leading engineering firm specializing in the agricultural sector in Ontario. Our staff works with closely with business owners and/or their builders to develop practical, environmentally sound site plans and on-farm structures and commercial projects that address current and future regulations.
With our engineering experience now spanning from agricultural to residential and commercial projects, we ensure that our clients experience successful projects that work for them today and in the future.

MEET THE STONECREST TEAM

Wayne Blenkhorn, P.Eng, M.Eng.
C.E.O.
Wayne is a graduate of McGill University in Agricultural Engineering and later returned there to gain a Master’s in Agricultural Engineering and complete his studies in Mechanical Engineering. Wayne's main focus currently ranges in the Biogas and CNG energy sector and working on larger international-based projects.

Pat Ducharme, B.A. Sc.
Structural Specialist
Pat is a graduate from the University of Waterloo with a degree in civil engineering and holds almost 20 years experience in engineering design and drafting. As well as General Manager, Pat is our structural and residential specialist for the company, overseeing our fabric and steel structures, ensuring structural integrity of our designs and providing clients with innovative custom home designs.

Mitchell Schultz,
Project Designer
Mitchell is a graduate from Conestoga College and joined Stonecrest in 2015. Mitchell was raised on a dairy farm and worked in the construction industry before joining Stonecrest. He works on dairy and residential projects. Mitchell is frequently onsite completing inspections during construction.

Travis Pol,
Project Designer
Travis is a graduate from Conestoga College and joined Stonecrest in 2016. Having grown up on a dairy farm, and with previous construction experience, Travis brings additional on-hand construction and dairy operation knowledge to the design group. Travis will also travel onsite to complete onsite inspections during construction.

Natalie Catlos,
Project Designer,
Commercial Division
Natalie is a graduate from Conestoga College and joined Stonecrest in 2016. She grew up on a horse farm and also has experience in roofing and construction. As well as contributing to our Commercial Division, Natalie is also part of our group of inspectors completing onsite inspections during the course of project construction.
