Dairy Facility

Stonecrest Engineering is more engaged in developing designs for dairies than any other agricultural livestock/poultry sector. Dairy facility designs range from smaller operations of 100 cows or less that are frequently housed in modern, tie stall barns to larger free stall operations. Free stall barns are commonly constructed for small to medium sized herds numbering from 100 to several hundred lactating cows. Still larger family dairy enterprises or investor dairies are often built for 1000-6000 or more lactating cows on a single production site. These dairy facilities are constructed using a variety of different configurations related to site geography, manure handling, bedding systems, milking system choice---rotary, parallel, herringbone, swing, robotic and changing practices related to cow comfort and management preferences.

These many factors coupled with increasing environmental issues that must be addressed to ensure compliance with municipal, state and federal regulations encourages owners/investors to engage professional design assistance early in a project.
