The Farm Show started as a one day event held at the Ontario Agricultural offices in the Richmond Building overlooking Market Lane. By the late 1940's the show expanded to four days and was held in a section of the Dundas Street Armouries. The event changed it’s name to The Farm Show in 1961 and by 1968 the event required more than 135,000 square feet of exhibit space and attracted more than 120 commercial exhibitors. By the mid 1970's the Farm Show started to emphasize agricultural technology, education and farm improvement.
