Stonecrest Engineering is dedicated to serving you, the customer. We use only the latest tools of agricultural engineering: Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Computer Aided Design software (CAD), and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture programs to ensure that our designs meet not only your requirements, but also those of your municipality.

Meet Stonecrest Engineering

Wayne Blenkhorn,
P.Eng., President

Wayne is a graduate of McGill University in Agricultural Engineering and later returned there to gain a Master’s in Agricultural Engineering & complete his studies in Mechanical Engineering.

Following graduation Wayne joined Ontario’s OMAF organization at Kemptville Agricultural College where he taught Engineering courses & assisted in college research & design projects.

Having also owned & operated his own family hog farm Wayne brings a wealth of experience to the design process.

Wayne is President of Faromor Ltd, a Stonecrest sister company, and continues to support the development of their ventilation products distributed throughout North America.

Mark Futcher - Dairy Design Consultant, Stonecrest Engineering

Growing up on a dairy, Mark graduated from the University of Guelph with an Associate Diploma in Agriculture- Farm Operation & Management, and after graduation, participated in an exchange to the Netherlands via the Canadian Ministry of Agriculture. While there, Mark worked on a mixed farm operation in Friesland, and attended the Oenkerk School for Dairy Husbandry & Grassland Management, completing a course in Dairy Management.

Mark became a Territory Manager for DeLaval in 1990. From 1993-1995, he worked in the Northwestern United States at a prominent dairy equipment & supply company- leaders in the layout, design and support of large dairies.

Returning to DeLaval Canada as a Territory Manager, he later acted as Project Consultant focused on layout, design and equipment demands of large dairies across Canada, also consulting on projects in Europe, Mongolia, New Zealand, China, and United States.

Mark joined the Faromor Group in May of 2000 attending to dairy design and equipment sales, including robotic milking facilities for Leader Dairy Systems. Today, Mark functions as a Dairy Design Consultant at Stonecrest Engineering and Export Sales Manager for Faromor Ltd. 

Don Veale

Don joined the Stonecrest Engineering team in 2001 to handle all of the bookkeeping and accounting. Don has a B.Sc. from the University of Guelph and is currently working on his CGA designation.

Joan Veldman

Joan recently joined Stonecrest Engineering and is responsible for general reception.

Steve Miller, P.Eng., General Manager

Steve joined Stonecrest Engineering in 2000 and is a graduate of Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo. His past experience includes technical writing for an engineering software firm and performing computer modeling simulations for an energy conservation consulting company. Steve provides technical guidance and oversees the daily operations of Stonecrest Engineering.

Tammy Kollman, Project Designer

Tammy is a graduate of Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Tammy has quickly become our in-house expert on poultry facilities and accessory structures. Her experience as a computer support consultant for a building design software firm makes her a valuable asset to our team.

Rob Pol, Project Designer

Rob is a graduate of Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario and is our dairy design specialist. Rob joined Stonecrest in 1999 and immediately applied his extensive knowledge of dairy operations and construction to our projects. Having grown up on a local dairy farm, Rob possesses the ability to design a dairy facility to suit any need.

Greg Beath, Senior Dairy Designer

Greg graduated from Algonquin College in Ottawa, where he studied Architectural Technology. He then continued his studies at the University of Ottawa in the Civil Engineering field. During his years of study he worked in residential construction and then as a Resource Technician for a large Ontario engineering firm.

Greg temporarily left his studies at the University of Ottawa under a 6 month contract to work for Babson Bros. Co. (Naperville, IL.), manufacturers of SURGE Milking Equipment. Initially contracted to setup a Dairy Design Service for SURGE Milking Equipment, the Design Service was such a success that Greg was offered a full time position with the Dairy Design Group. Greg continued with the Design Service when Babson Bros. was acquired by Westfalia (Germany). Greg was the Sr. Dairy Design Consultant in North America.

During his time with the Design Service Greg was involved with Dairies that varied in size from a 10 cow research herd to various Mega-Dairy Commercial facilities. Greg has been involved with over 500 facilities that span the globe in over 30 countries.

Greg's arrival at Stonecrest Engineering in October of 2005 brought a wealth of resources. His knowledge of the dairy industry and his experience with the latest CAD software are an asset to the Stonecrest team.

Bram Van Den Heuvel, Project Designer

Bram joined Stonecrest Engineering in 2005 after graduating from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario. Helping run the family poultry operation and summer employment in the agricultural construction industry will definitely give him an advantage.
